Covid-19 pandemic in Brazil

Brazil is the second country most affected by the pandemic, in terms of number of deaths, behind the United States. Indeed, President Jair Bolsonaro has no national strategy to combat the pandemic, which he downplays. He chooses to maintain the country's economy to the detriment of sanitary conditions. He disagrees with most of the governors of Brazilian states, in particular against Governor Joao Doria, who advocates a lockdown against the coronavirus in his state of São Paulo, the country's economic area.

In Brazil, only 9 of the airports contribute to business travel.
Here is a map showing the 9 airports from which planes carrying business travelers take off and land.
We deduce that the vast majority of the country's economic activity takes place on the East Coast.

Graph reading

We notice a decrease in the number of flights from February 2020.
On the other hand, we cannot affirm that it is a consequence of Covid-19, having too little information on the number of flights over a year outside the pandemic.
However, Abracorp (Associação Brasileira de Agências de Viagens Corporativas) maintains that 2019 has been a successful year for the business travel economy.

Logistic regression model on employees data

Select below the employee's age, gender and brazilian state of departure and arrival of the trip

Prevalence

We estimate here the risk of an employee contracting Covid-19 based on the departure and arrival states.
Number of positive cases for Covid-19 by state out of the total number of inhabitants of this state :

Probability of dying

We estimate here the probability that an employee will die knowing that he is positive for Covid-19 according to his age, his gender at his departure state and his state of arrival through a logistic regression model.

Analysis of Covid-19 in Brazil and comparison with other countries

Percentage of deaths out of the total number of the population by country

Analysis of the barplot

The barplot on the left represents the ratio of the number of deaths on the number of the total population of 22 countries in the world.
We can see that although Brazil is the 2nd most affected country in the world in terms of the number of Covid-19 deaths, the proportion according to the total number of the population makes it possible to see these figures differently.
In fact, the Czech Republic is the most affected country if we take into account the number of inhabitants.

Epidemiological situation of the coronavirus in Brazil

We are interested here in the characteristics of each patient, whether they present risk factors or symptoms.
The histogram below allows to understand the influence of certain risk factors on the virulence of the Covid-19 virus on a total of 1 048 575 brazilian patients.
The habitat area of each patient is taken in consideration for each risk factor selected.
